Wailuku is old Maui but shopping tends to stay very up-to-date everywhere. You'll find some interesting places to explore here. Kahului is new Maui and it's hard to keep up with the changes in shops and their offerings. New malls keep opening and the older ones remake themselves. Good hunting. |

Downtown Wailuku is still a work in process, moving from the olden days to full gentrification. There are a couple of good Thai restaurants, too |

Ka'ahumanu Center |

These striking fabric wings form a canopy over Maui's biggest shopping mall with almost 100 shops and restaurants. There is a 6 screen theater complex and an international food court. All kinds of community events are held in the court. You'll find mall standards like The Gap, Radio Shack, J.C.Penney, Sears, Disney, Waldenbooks, Shirokiya, Caswell-Massey and Liberty House. Then there are art, gift, jewelry and clothing boutiques plus |

Maui Mall |

This quiet and comfortable mall has been overshadowed by the two newbies. Anchored by Longs Drugs and Star Market, it's still a favorite of ours for easy access and good buys. |

Maui Swap Meet in Kahului |

|
On Saturday, over 100 booths line up to offer local baked goods, ethnic foods, local fruits and vegetables, resale goods and household items. Fresh tropical flowers, fruits and vegetables at low prices.
