Creeper

(Antigonum leptopus)

Heart shaped buds, flowers and leaves make this easy to identify, even if you could overlook the intense magenta blossoms.

Plumbago

((Plumbago auriculata)

Hedges of these shrubs with their pale blue flowers are all over Upcountry.

Azalea

(Rhododenron indicum)

A Japanese garden ornamental with bright red flowers grown as a shrub in many gardens.

Protea

Protea

Proteas are native to South Africa but are a major floral crop on Maui where they grow well at higher altitudes. You'll see them in bouquets and at the protea farms upcountry. There are so many varieties we can't pretend to identify them.
